May is off to a great start with Pinnacle Group Renovations recently showcasing one of our latest Sam Award Finalist projects in this year’s Calgary Spring Reno Tour. It was a fabulous opportunity to share our expertise and craftsmanship with Calgarians looking to embark on their own renovation.

Biannually, Calgary Renovators who are both members of the Canadian Home Builder’s Association – Calgary Region (CHBA-Calgary Region) and RenoMark™ open the doors to completed renovation project(s) of their choice. This year, Pinnacle Group Renovations was one of ten companies that participated.

Many hours of planning are invested in the event to ensure it is worthwhile for all those who attend – we want visitors to leave with a taste of what the Pinnacle experience is all about!

In our business, our trades and suppliers are not an extension of us – they truly are a part of our core team and we treat them accordingly! That is why when we put out the call to our loyal trade/supplier partners each and every year, they graciously volunteer to give up their Saturday to promote our Design-Build renovation firm. We truly value their support and participation as it is not common for many renovators to have their trades on site at the Reno Tour. Having these representatives on hand is a great benefit to those on the tour as attendees are able to ask specific questions directly to the experts! We had representation from our architect and interior designers, electrical and millwork trades, digital & home theatre reps as well as our appliance supplier.

There were many highlights of this renovation project that guests were able to experience in living colour. Before & After pictures were on display to capture the dramatic changes that had taken place as well as staff members were on hand to walk people through the details of the transformation. Some of these changes included the renovations to the great room on the main floor which included moving the location of the fireplace and restoring three of the vintage architectural stamps of this house to their original condition. – these included the beams, teak paneling and wide planked hardwood floor. Guests were awed at the aggressive changes that were made to the 2400 square foot basement which required a complete gutting. Remedying the issue of 5 foot high ceilings required dropping the concrete floor by 3 feet. Visitors were able to see that the transformation had created an inviting games and entertainment room which is now arguably the most popular room of the house! In addition to this, many other cosmetic makeovers were done throughout this 1956 built farm-style home such as the creation of a combination walk-in pantry/front foyer closet and the reconfiguration of the dining room.

A highlight of the tour for guests was our 3D presentation of a home renovation. Our architect Dwayne Seal personally sat down with many guests to walk them through our 3D presentation of a home renovation – a fantastic tool that greatly enhances the renovation process for our customers. This 3D format literally brings a renovation project to life, allowing the client to walk through their front door and experience all the structural changes, furnishings, moldings, and colour choices as if they are walking through their actual home. The accuracy and realism of this technology is sensational and left a lasting impression on our guests!

Guests did not leave without enjoying the view of the beautifully landscaped yard which had also been a part of the renovation while they had a tasty sampling of a variety of Spolumbo sausage freshly barbequed by representatives from Jerome’s Appliances.

Thank-you to all those who helped plan, execute and participate in the event – it was a huge success and left a lasting impression on Calgarians!
