Smart Kitchen Revitalization for Short Term Needs
This returning Pinnacle client was looking to embark on their third renovation project with Pinnacle, having previously completed both an exterior home makeover and interior revitalization and main bath transformation. This project entailed a kitchen modernization as well as re-configuring of the compartmentalized back pocket of the home which included the garage, powder room, laundry room, kitchen and dining room. One of the main considerations of this renovation was the client’s uncertainty in how long they planned to stay in this home. As empty nesters they had plans to downsize at some point in the next 5 years; remaining cognizant of the investment in this renovation, knowing this wasn’t their forever home, was important. This greatly influenced the decision to refinish rather than replace the existing kitchen cabinetry; utilizing the services of Pinnacle Custom Cabinets, the quality solid oak cabinetry was spray shaded to give it new life. Cabinets were also added and reconfigured to match the existing cabinetry. A desk area was removed and a pantry added as well as a wine rack and a uniquely designed peninsula pull-up table to seat four. The kitchen now features stunning granite countertops that were personally chosen by the geologist homeowner as well as an impressive, resilient, Dura Ceramic flooring product. The traffic flow and site lines were greatly improved with the removal of walls and conflicting door openings. The result is a budget savvy transformation of the kitchen and surrounding spaces that reflect the needs of this client so they can fully enjoy their home in the short term as well as gain resale value when the time comes to move.
