Overview

This client family loved the location of their home, backing one of Calgary’s finest golf courses but wanted to create living spaces that would further enhance their family gatherings and time spent with their grandchildren. They wanted to determine a redesign to resolve the current challenges of the compartmentalized kitchen floorplan and revitalize the main floor interior throughout. As well, they wanted to incorporate some fun, inspired living elements that capture their personal interests.

• Source a quality, aesthetically pleasing cabinetry solution that is low maintenance for care
• Revitalize interior to reflect a modern minimalist design
• Incorporate inspired living elements (collection of vintage wine crates)

How The Criteria Was Met

Through an extensive design discovery process, Pinnacle collaborated with this client to fully uncover how they wanted to live in their home. The previously compartmentalized main floorplan was  significantly transformed, allowing for improved traffic flow and enhanced site lines to capitalize on the impressive view, while maintaining the location of the existing dining room. An exquisite Schenk imported Italian matte cabinetry was sourced with an absolute matte, flat finish that leaves no fingerprints. The Sommelier homeowner’s passion for wine was infused in the custom crafted kitchen island wrap created from their collection of vintage wine crates. To further support the homeowner’s passion for wine, a grotto style wine tasting room was created with a ledgestone feature wall. The front closet has been relocated to create an open and welcoming front foyer and the existing brick fireplace has been replaced with a modern luminescent tile, complete with gas retro fit. All flooring was updated, painting refreshed and main floor vanity modernized to complete the final transformation. The result is a stunning, modern minimalist designed home that perfectly complements this client family’s use of space and captures their personal interests.
